Connect with industry leaders, expand your network and discover new opportunities.
Guild O-Day is a biannual event held during orientation week each semester, where thousands of new and returning students are given the opportunity to discover the wide range of services offered by Curtin. Any merchandise provided by sponsors (stickers, bags, shirts, etc) will be displayed prominently at ComSSA's stall, and are provided for free to students who join the ComSSA community.
Grill The Department is an engaging event where students can visit ComSSA’s stall, enjoy a sausage sizzle, and have the opportunity to meet and chat with computing lecturers, ask questions about courses, and gain valuable insights in an informal setting.
Networking Sundowner is one of our most anticipated industry events in the year, and provides networking over food and drinks. Company representatives can expose students to industry through presentations and one-on-one conversations, making our Networking Sundowner a great opportunity for students to know what programs are offered by industry.
The Amazing Tech Race is a fun, dynamic competition where teams of students compete against each other through a series of challenges that test problem-solving, logical deduction and technological proficiency. Company representatives can network with students during and after the event, and offer valuable insights to aid them with their challenges.
Talks From The Industry is an educational event, which allows students to learn about the business represented by our sponsors, build networks and find potential careers in the industry.
Students hear directly from professionals representing our sponsors, gaining insights into their businesses, industry trends, and potential career opportunities while building valuable networks.
Computing alumni share their career journeys, discussing the transition from university to the workplace and offering a firsthand look at their current roles and industries.
If you prefer more of a casual event but still want to network and connect with like-minded students, ComSSA runs a variety of social events such as Board Games Night, LAN Night, and more!
Board Games Night is a relaxed and social event where students can bring their favorite board games, enjoy pizza with friends, and take part in fun activities! You might even run into a computing lecturer joining in for a game or two, making it a great opportunity to connect with peers and faculty in a casual setting.
